Alabama Offshore Oil Trust Fund Amendment (March 1982)

The Alabama Offshore Oil Trust Fund Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Alabama on March 2, 1982, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed the creation of a trust fund for the revenue realized from leasing offshore oil and gas rights. It also allowed for the creation of a board to manage the fund and for the ability of the legislature to appropriate monies from the fund.[1]
