The Alabama Property Tax Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 7, 1978, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed to divide all taxable property into four classes and detailed property tax rates and regulations.[1]
