Alabama Special County Ad Valorem Tax, Amendment 35 (1965)

The Alabama Special County Ad Valorem Tax, Amendment 35, also known as Amendment 35, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 30, 1965, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that Winston County would be authorized to levy and collect a special ad valorem tax of five mills on each dollar of taxable property. The revenue from the tax would be used to fund public medical facilities and would not be collected for more than 20 years. The above must be first approved by a majority of electors.[1]
