The Alabama Special County Property County, Amendment 10, also known as Amendment 10, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 5, 1961, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed to allow Tuscaloosa County the power to levy and collect a property tax for funding education. The tax would not exceed one-half of one percent of the value of taxable property. The tax must be approved by the electors.[1]
