Alabama Special County Tax, Amendment 15 (1961)

The Alabama Special County Tax, Amendment 15, also known as Amendment 15, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 5, 1961, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that Clay County be permitted to levy and collect a special county tax of one-half of one percent of taxable property for public school funding. The tax must be approved by a majority of electors.[1]
