Alabama Special County Tax, Amendment 19 (1960)

The Alabama Special County Tax, Amendment 19, also known as Amendment 19, was on the ballot in Alabama on February 16, 1960, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the governing body of Winston County would have the power to levy and collect a special county tax not to exceed 50 cents on each $100 of taxable property for public school purposes. The tax must be voted on by the electors and pass with a majority.[1]
