The Alabama Special County Tax Amendment, also known as Amendment 27, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 6, 1955, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The measure would have authorized the governing body of Winston County to levy and collect a special county ad valorem tax of up to three mills per dollar of property valuation on real and personal property in the county.[1]
