The Alabama Special District School Tax, Amendment 17, also known as Amendment 17, was on the ballot in Alabama on February 16, 1960, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that Coosa County would be authorized to levy and collect a special district school tax to net exceed 50 cents on each $100 of taxable property. The tax must be voted on by the electors and pass with a majority.[1]
