Alabama Special Municipal School Tax, Amendment 9 (1963)

The Alabama Special Municipal School Tax, Amendment 9, also known as Amendment 9, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 10, 1963, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the city of Huntsville would be authorized to levy and collect a special school tax of 50 cents on each $100 of taxable property in the Huntsville school district. The revenue is for educational purposes only. The above must be first approved by a majority of electors.[1]
