Alabama Special Municipal Tax, Amendment 34 (1965)

The Alabama Special Municipal Tax, Amendment 34, also known as Amendment 34, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 30, 1965, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the city of Jasper would be authorized to levy and collect a special tax of one-half of one percent on the value of taxable property. The revenue from the tax would be used to fund public schools. The above must be first approved by a majority of electors.[1]
