Alabama State Bonds, Amendment 2 (1963)

The Alabama State Bonds, Amendment 2, also known as Amendment 2, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 10, 1963, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the state would be authorized to become indebted and issue interest-bearing general obligation bonds to refund state dock revenue bonds and improve the state docks. The bonds would not exceed $10 million in principal amount and revenue generated by the Alabama State Docks Department's seaport facilities would go toward paying the principal and interest of the above bonds when they reach maturity.[1]
