The Alabama State Indebtedness, Amendment 3, also known as Amendment 3, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 30, 1965, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that Madison County would become indebted up to $1.9 million through he sale of interest-bearing general obligation bonds for the purpose of facilitating permanent facilities in Madison County for the U.S. Army and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.[1]
