The Alabama State education Oversight, Amendment 1, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 9, 1969, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the legislature would choose the method of supervision of state education. Furthermore, the superintendent of education would be appointed by the board of education.[1]
