Alabama Term Limits, Amendment 1 (1968)
The Alabama Term Limits, Amendment 1, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 5, 1968, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed that the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, state auditor, secretary of state, state treasurer, superintendent of education and commissioner of agriculture and industries would hold office for four years and may hold office for no more than two terms.[1]
