Alabama court reverses conviction of man for murder
March 8, 2010
Alabama: On Friday, March 5, the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals reversed the murder conviction of Jodey Wayne Waldrop. Waldrop was convicted for the killing of his 3-week old son by violently shaking him. The Criminal Appeals Court overturned the conviction because jurors in Waldrop's original trial heard about a previous assault conviction, but were not told how to treat that information by the judge and, therefore, could have believed it evidence that Waldrop did indeed shake his son.[1]
