Alan Carl Lazerow
Alan Carl Lazerow is a judge of the Maryland 8th Circuit Court Baltimore City. He assumed office on December 23, 2023. His current term ends in 2039.
Lazerow ran for re-election for judge of the Maryland 8th Circuit Court Baltimore City. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
He was appointed to the court on December 15, 2023, by Governor Wes Moore (D) to replace Charles J. Peters.
Biography
Alan Carl Lazerow has served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the civil division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland since 2017 and was promoted to senior litigation counsel in October 2022. Lazerow currently serves as lead of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s civil opioid initiative. He also served as an assigned public defender during his time at the Baltimore-based firm of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston.[1]
Lazerow received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he was the articles editor for the University of Baltimore Law Review. Upon graduation, he clerked for the Honorable Glenn T. Harrell, Jr., on what was then the Court of Appeals of Maryland.[2]
