Hello, my name is Alan Evans. I am the Republican candidate for the Pike County Clerk.

I currently reside in Winslow with my wife Alexa. I have lived in Pike County my entire life and graduated from Pike Central High School. My wife and I own Beacon of Light Cafe in Winslow. I also work for my father-in-law at Firm Foundation Home Repair. In our free time, we love going on trips as well as spending time with friends and our growing families. When we’re not out and about, we spend our time together with our cat, Benji, and our dog we adopted from PAWS, Sadie. We both are strongly involved in our church, and I am an active member of our church worship team. We live by our faith and hope that others see that as well. My interest in politics started at a young age. As I have grown, my interest has shifted towards the operational side of our government. My biggest interest being the election process, which is one of the areas the Clerk oversees. I have been a Poll Worker for a number of years now and have gained so much knowledge in how the elections are conducted.

I hope to have the opportunity to be the next Pike County Circuit Court Clerk. I will work hard to serve our county with pride and enthusiasm.
  • My biggest goal in office is to keep the people of Pike County up to date on election information such as deadlines and voting requirements set forth by the Indiana Secretary of State and the federal government. The elections are the best way for the people to express their opinions and I believe that everyone should be informed and also have faith that the integrity of elections will be maintained by local and federal government.
  • I want to have an office of Deputy Clerks that strives on swiftly assisting the citizens and officials that come through the Clerks Office for any reason. Remaining calm and courteous is how we should conduct ourselves as a government employee. My hope is that by doing so, we can maintain a cordial relationship with everyone we encounter.
  • It is time for the younger generation to take up it's role in government. We cannot focus on making the world better in the future if we can't make it better now. Now is the time for change and I believe that local government is the best place to start. I hope to see younger people get involved with working the elections as a poll worker.
The elections have been my passion since I first started working them.
I look up to some of my family members. They show great integrity and problem solving skills. They are who I learned a lot of my physical and mental skills from.
Leadership and integrity are cliché but needed for an official who is truly for the people. An elected official is a representative of the people who voted for them. It is the elected officials job to LISTEN to the people and hear what they desire. While every desire cannot be met, the official should still have the best interest for the people.
I believe my core qualities are: My Faith in God, my vast leadership and problem solving skills, my desire to acquire more knowledge, and my drive to see others succeed.
The first historical event I remember was the killing of Osama Bin Laden. I was around 10 years old.
My first job was working at Subway for a little over a year. I started at the age of 16.
