Alan Furr is a judge on the St. Clair County District Court in Alabama. He was appointed by Governor Robert Bentley in October 2011 and his current tern expires in 2018.[1]

Career

Prior to his appointment, Furr practiced law for seventeen years. He also served as judge of the Argo Municipal Court.[1]

Awards and associations

At the time of his appointment to the District Court, Furr was a member of the St. Clair County Healthcare Authority. He resigned from the position soon after, in keeping with the Canon of Judicial Ethics.[2]

2012 election

Furr defeated Laurie S.M. Henderson in the Republican primary on March 13, winning 62.25 percent of the vote. He was re-elected after running unopposed in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3][4][5]
