Alan McCarthy was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 36 of the Maryland House of Delegates.[1]

Elections for the Maryland House of Delegates took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 24, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 25, 2014. Irving Pinder and Robert Alan Thornton, Jr. were unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Jeff Ghrist and incumbents Steve Arentz and Jay A. Jacobs defeated incumbent Michael D. Smigiel, Sr., Rod Heinze, Alan McCarthy and J.D. Uhler in the Republican primary. Jacobs, Arentz and Ghrist defeated Pinder and Thornton for three seats in the general election.[2][3][4]
