Biography

Alan Roy began serving in the U.S. Army Reserve in 2011. Roy earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota in 2006 and a graduate degree from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs in 2018.[1]

Democratic primary election

The Democratic primary election was canceled. Alan Roy advanced from the Democratic primary for Minnesota State Senate District 2.

Republican primary election

The Republican primary election was canceled. Steve Green advanced from the Republican primary for Minnesota State Senate District 2.

Withdrawn or disqualified candidates

Note: On July 15, 2022, the Minnesota Supreme Court disqualified Edward Strickland from the Republican primary ballot. After Strickland was struck from the ballot, Steve Green, the only eligible Republican candidate in the race, was automatically advanced to the general election. Since the ballots for the primary had already been printed, the court ordered that no primary votes would be canvassed in the race.[2]

Alan Roy was born and raised in White Earth, Minnesota, and is a U.S. Army veteran. He served overseas and was elected to the White Earth Tribal Council in 2018. Alan has worked with the White House, Congress, Minnesota legislature, municipalities, counties, and everyday Minnesotans. Alan’s family has always been involved with community advocacy. His parents would often bring him and his siblings to public hearings, Tribal Council meetings, and other community events. Alan and his wife have three children who currently attend Minnesota public schools.
