Alan Stout (Kentucky)
Alan Stout was a federal bankruptcy judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Western District of Kentucky. He took office on October 26, 2011, replacing retired Judge David T. Stosberg. He was selected by a committee from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.[1] He retired on October 25, 2025.[2]
Education
Stout received his bachelor's degree from Murray State University in 1978. He later served one six-year term on the MSU Board of Regents that ended in 2010.[1][3]
Career
Stout practiced bankruptcy law for 30 years and was a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee for 25 years prior to becoming a judge in 2011.[1][3]
