Alan is a third-generation Oregonian from a family of foresters, military pilots,

small business owners, and artists. As a small business owner himself, Alan wholesales building materials, including wood and steel rebar. Alan and his

wife Angela raise their four young children in Springfield.
  • Cost of Living - we can make common sense changes to grow housing stock and reduce fees and taxes that hamper working families and businesses
  • Homelessness - we must focus on accountability for all homeless services
  • Crime - we can support addiction services while also pushing against drugs and early release of violent criminals.
We must address our cost of living, homelessness, and crime to make Oregon more family friendly and more business friendly.

In addition, I want Oregon to be a small-business friendly state, meaning that new businesses move here not just for the beautiful environment, but also for the economic freedom to grow.

I’m interested in more decisions being made locally. That means our cities and our counties need to be held accountable to doing the will of their own citizens, and that the State should only show up when the municipality or county is unable to take care of itself.

I’m interested in a pedestrian-first approach to transportation planning. I believe that putting pedestrians first will reduce wear and tear on roads, will reduce pollution, will improve health, will spur local businesses, will increase safety for children and will lower the number of Oregonians who choose to leave the state.
