Alan Wilson was a judge for the circuit court of Delaware County, Indiana. He was appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels in late 2011 to fill the unexpired term of retired Judge Richard A. Dailey, which ended in 2012.[1][2][3] He ran for election to a full term in 2012 but was defeated.

Education

Wilson received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Purdue University. He received his J.D.from Indiana University's Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana.[4]

Career

Prior to joining the court, Wilson served as Muncie's Mayor in the early 1980s. He also served as a public defender for 26 years and worked in private practice for nearly three decades. He has sometimes been an instructor of business law and criminal justice at Ball State University and Ivy Tech.[5]

2012 election

Wilson ran against Kimberly S. Dowling in the 2012 election to receive a full term in his seat, but was unsuccessful. The race was initially too close to call, but eventually went in favor of Kimberly Dowling, who received 51.7 percent of the vote.[6]
