I’m seeking reelection because I want to continue building on the progress we’ve made as a commission over the past 4 years. As a life-long Plymouth resident, it’s incredibly rewarding to serve this community and work alongside a dedicated group of professionals in city government and in the administration. I take pride in being open, honest, collaborative, and accessible with a willingness to listen. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and went on to earn a Master of Public Policy degree at Michigan State University. Professionally, I am a senior accountant for an international engineering consultancy. I am married and have 2 sons. I am a co-founder and trustee of the Plymouth Democratic Club.
  • Sustainable environmental practices in city infrastructure and management
  • Delivering high-quality, reliable city services and programs
  • Community-centered approach to development
Environmental policy, green infrastructure and design, urban planning, economic policy
City commissioners are the local elected voice of the people in Plymouth. A city commissioner can help advocate for Plymouth at the state and federal levels to bring funding back into our community.
Honesty, integrity, collaboration, and a willingness to listen
Ensuring long-term financial sustainability through sensible planning and budgeting, continuing to deliver high-quality city services and programs, and making Plymouth a welcoming place for all residents and visitors.
I would like to be remembered as someone who cared very deeply about her hometown, and worked to make it the best possible community to live in or visit.
Having an understanding of the role of a Plymouth City Commissioner is beneficial, but I do not necessarily believe it is a prerequisite. Approach this position with an open mind, and if you are newly elected but lacking in prior government experience, ask questions of your colleagues, read our city charter, and begin to familiarize yourself with the demands and expectations of the office.
Having some experience with finance and an understanding of local government operations would benefit a candidate for this office.

I am most proud of my advocacy for sustainable development and promoting green infrastructure and design. We must meet the challenges of the next decade, and there is no greater challenge than addressing the climate crisis. During my tenure, I promoted more rain gardens, more land acquisitions for public parks, voted for an impervious surface ordinance to reduce flooding, and got the City of Plymouth to participate in the Michigan Municipal League’s “Green Communities Challenge” where communities across the state are scored on how sustainable and green their cities and towns are. We started at the Bronze level and have worked our way to Silver status. I also worked with our city’s Department of Municipal Services to increase access to kitchen waste composting, among other things.
