The Alaska Gas Reserve Tax Levy did not appear on the November 2, 2010 ballot as an indirect initiated state statute in the state of Alaska. The application was certified by the Lieutenant Governor and petition booklets were issued to the initiative committee on January 16, 2009. The one year filing deadline for the petition was January 16, 2010, which was the group organizing the effort missed.[1]

According to the Alaska Division of Elections, the text of the petition read:
- An Act levying a tax on certain gas reserves; providing for a conditional repeal of the tax on certain gas reserves; relating to a credit against the oil and gas production tax attributable to the production of gas; relating to expenses that are not lease expenditures for the purpose of the oil and gas production tax; and providing for an effective date.[1]
