The Alaska Guaranteed Permanent Fund Dividend Amendment was a proposed constitutional amendment that was not placed by the Alaska Legislature on a 2016 election ballot.
Upon voter approval, the measure would have established the earnings reserve account for the permanent fund dividend and required "the permanent fund dividend be at least equal to the amount that would be calculated under current law."[1]

The bill, known as Senate Joint Resolution 1 (SJR 1) in the legislature, was sponsored by State Sen. Bill Wielechowski (D-H).[1][3]
