Alaska Legislative Research Services is a nonpartisan, all-purpose legislative service agency that is dedicated to serving the members and staff of the Alaska Legislature.

Legislative Research Services is governed by the Alaska Legislative Council.[1]

Services offered

Fiscal impact statements

Fiscal impact statements are furnished by Legislative Research Services. This is generally done if any proposed legislation carries economic impact towards state or local governments in Alaska.[2]

Federal research

Legislative Research Services offers research to legislators about the impacts of possible legislation at the federal level affecting the State of Alaska.[3]

Research services

Legislative Research Services is set-up differently from other states as they are not limited from the research that they do. Legislative Research Services can do either fiscal or general research and requests that legislators make their requests as precise as possible in order to provide a detailed analysis. Legislative Research Services is only open during limited periods of the year.[4]
