An effort to recall four members of the Albany Unified School District school board occurred in California. Three members were elected to serve on the board and one was a city councilor who served ex officio.[1]
The recall effort resulted in the court case Becker v. Council of the City of Albany, in which the California First District Court of Appeal held that members of a board of education are municipal officers.[1]
