|- Protect Florida’s Environment and Stop Over-Development - Florida’s environment is not only a national treasure, it is a key driver of our economic prosperity, agricultural industry, and tourism in Florida. I understand climate change is real, and support science-backed legislation that protects our environment. I intend on working to repeal HB 781 which allows governmental entities to proceed with an unsolicited proposal for a public-private partnership without engaging in a public bidding process, as previously required.
- Address the Affordable Housing Crisis and Lower the Cost of Homeowner’s Insurance - I’m committed to reforming our insurance system and ensuring that more affordable housing is available for Floridians. I won’t take money from the insurance industry, and I’ll fight for lower rates. I will introduce legislation to allow homeowners to choose contractors, negotiate claims with insurance adjustors, and restore the transferability of Assignment of Benefits for settled claims. Reinstate One-Way Attorney Fees with limits on escalator fees. Restrict businesses to a set number of subsidiary insurance companies and ensure "preferred vendors" lists include independent restoration and repair contractors.
- The current Florida ban on abortion regulations is a human rights violation. I will work to protect women’s bodily autonomy and access to reproductive healthcare - I stand firmly in support of protecting women’s access to contraception, IVF, and reproductive healthcare including abortion. These interventions are crucial for Floridians, especially women who may lose their lives to pregnancy. The decision to undergo pregnancy belongs to women, not politicians.
