Alec Fisken
Alec Fisken was a Democratic candidate for treasurer of Washington in the 2016 elections.[1] He was defeated in the primary election.
Biography
Fisken began his career in 1971 as a market consultant for Thomas H. Miner & Associates in Chicago. He published the Seattle Sun from 1973 to 1977 and participated in an exchange program as a government liaison to Africa from 1977 to 1979. He then worked as a vice president for Ranier National Bank until 1985, then as a vice president for Prudential Bache Capital Funding until 1989. From 1989 to 1999, Fisken managed Marine Publishing Inc. He then served for a year as director of the World Trade Organization Accountability Review Committee and a year as a consultant for the Pacific Research Group.
Fisken was elected to the Seattle Port Commission in 2004 and served until 2008. Concurrently, he was a strategic policy advisor to the mayor of Seattle from 2002 to 2009. He has served on the boards of Town Hall, the Sanctuary Art Center, the Elevated Transportation Company, and the Evergreen Community Development Association.[2]

Fisken filed to run as a Democrat in the 2016 election for treasurer of Washington. He competed with two other Democrats and two Republicans in the August 2 top-two primary election.[1] Fisken was defeated in the primary election by Republicans Michael Waite and Duane Davidson.
