Alex McDonald (California)
Alex C. McDonald was an associate justice on the Fourth District, Division One of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed by Governor Pete Wilson and took the oath of office on June 12, 1995. He was retained by voters in 2002 and 2014.[1][2] His current 12-year term expires on January 3, 2027.[3][4] He passed away in September 2016.[5]
Education
McDonald graduated from Stanford in 1958 with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering. He earned his law degree (L.L.B.) from the University of California School of Law in 1961. In 2001, he earned an L.L.M. from the University of Virginia School of Law.[1]
Career
McDonald was in private practice in San Diego from 1963 until his appointment to the California Fourth District Court of Appeal in 1995.[1][6]
