Newhouse provided the following statement for the Washington general election voters pamphlet:

It is a privilege to run for Superior Court Judge, Position 3. For over nine years now, I have served the public. While in law school I helped the indigent navigate our legal systems. I then worked as a public defender in Yakima County for approximately four years. In 2012, I opened up my own practice. A substantial amount of my practice time consists of public defense and pro bono work. My practice is geared towards helping my community, and my rates reflect the needs of my community's members.

I’m qualified for the position of Superior Court Judge for the following reasons. I have experience dealing with many client issues, courts and judges. Most concerns the vast majority of people in the Yakima Valley have are concerns of mine. I'm committed to fiscal responsibility and efficiency. It is important to me that I always treat people fairly and with respect. I'm dedicated to seeing real justice carried out and will uphold the U.S. Constitution. And I will have no problem sentencing criminal defendants once due process has been given to terms justified by the facts and circumstances of each individual case once the State has met its burden.[1][2]
