Alex Thornton
Alex Thornton (Libertarian Party) ran for election to the South Carolina House of Representatives to represent District 119. She lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Thornton was a 2013 Libertarian candidate for District 42 of the South Carolina State Senate.[1]

Democratic primary election
The Democratic primary election was canceled. Incumbent Leonidas Stavrinakis advanced from the Democratic primary for South Carolina House of Representatives District 119.
2013
Thornton ran in a special election for South Carolina State Senate District 42. The seat was vacant following Sen. Robert Ford's (D) resignation on May 31, 2013, amidst an ethics investigation. Thornton was defeated by Marlon Kimpson (D) in the special election, which took place on October 10.[2][1]
