I am the mom to three kids, one girl and two boys all 5 and under, so our house is loud and full of energy. My husband and I moved our family to Fruitland Township in 2020 and we often reflect on how grateful we are that this is where we get to live.

I left my job as Director of Education at an insurance agency last year when I was having my third child. In that position, I was responsible for training new and current employees, staying up to date with changing insurance laws and implementing processes to comply with regulations. I also handled the majority of the agency's social media, wrote blogs and managed mass communications with our clients.

I first heard about the need for township clerk candidates while I was volunteering at the Senior Palooza this summer. I had the opportunity to get to know the current clerk as well as several of the current trustees and learned what the position would entail by shadowing the current clerk. I then did my own research regarding the duties required of a township clerk as well as the less official duties that are often taken on.

After thoroughly considering the position, my experience and my strengths, I came to the conclusion that I could excel in the role. I have great organizational skills and I am experienced in researching and implementing laws and regulations as they change. Those qualities are important not only for running the elections for our township, but also for the day-to-day duties.
  • As Clerk for Fruitland Township, I will increase election awareness and communication so every resident knows all of their voting options. It's important to make residents aware of every election, not just the larger scale elections. Between email campaigns, social media outreach and signage, I will strive to ensure our voters know when, where and how to register and to vote.
  • I think our township does so many great things for the community, including Senior Palooza, Trunk or Treat, the many resources available to seniors, and the numerous other events that have been planned. Unfortunately, I think there are many residents who don't know about them. I'd love to work on expanding the online presence and communication of our township. In addition, I think it's important to have more regularly scheduled events where residents can come and speak with the elected officials as well as their fellow residents in a less formal manner.
  • Fruitland Township is truly a hidden gem in this world and the natural beauty needs to be protected. I'm committed to helping keep Fruitland Township somewhere we can all be proud to live.
I'm passionate about the safety and education of the children in our township, preserving the natural beauty that we're lucky enough to have right in our backyard, executing fair and transparent elections and expanding community engagement.
Fruitland Township Clerk is an important position as the clerk is responsible for all of the elections in our township. Fair and transparent elections are the foundation of our democracy and all residents deserve to have a Clerk that is responsible and trustworthy.
Honesty, transparency, integrity and a willingness to listen to opposing positions with respect and kindness are the most important characteristics for an elected official.
I am patient, a good listener, I care deeply and have strong organizational skills. I take a lot of pride in the work I put in and strive to do the best I possibly can for the people relying on me.
The core responsibilities of an elected official go beyond their statutory duties. A successful elected official should listen to the concerns of their constituents and act accordingly. They must also consider the impact their actions may have on future generations and the long term well-being of their jurisdiction.
I'd like to help our community come together more and make it somewhere that future generations feel welcome and proud to live.
The first historical event that I distinctly remember is 9/11. I was 11 years old and to this day I remember watching the news before school and seeing the second plane hit in real time.
My first job was working as a score keeper for an adult hockey league. I started when I was 15 and left after I graduated high school.
The Harry Potter series. Reading the Harry Potter books was such a memorable part of my middle and high school years and helped me connect to my closest friends and even to my brother in a time when we otherwise didn't get along. They bring back such a sense of nostalgia, they'll always be a favorite.
Beautiful Things by Benson Boone. It's my daughter's favorite song and she yells it at the top of her lungs on a daily basis.
In addition to the elections, the clerk is also responsible for all of the township records. This is an important responsibility as the records in our township should be accessible to the public to keep things fair and consistent for all residents properties.
The most helpful skills for the township clerk to possess include the ability to research and implement law changes, attention to detail, and organization.
Financial transparency is arguably one of the most important attributes of an elected official. It's nearly impossible to hold a government body accountable without financial transparency. All citizens have a right to know exactly where their tax dollars are going so they can make educated decisions in future elections.
