Since the early 1800’s members of my family have been a part of this region. They have all helped our community grow, by establishing hospitals in Charlevoix, welcoming travelers at the Bay Side Inn, teaching at the local one room school house, or serving famous chicken dinners at the Shintangle. With names like Curley, Raby, Adams, Kerns, O’Brian, Ross and Phetterplace, shaping the future of our community is in my blood. Every summer since birth I enjoyed the breeze of Lake Michigan and 15 years ago, I decided make Hayes Township my permanent residence. After spending my youth as a 4H and FFA member I graduated from High School and decided to serve in the Army and after an serious knee injury I was honorably discharged. After a few years in the workforce, I knew it was time to further my education, going back to school and earning my MBA ( Masters in Business Administration) with honors in spring of 2020. Since graduating I have spent time with different organizations including the Petoskey Jaycees and have been employed in various capacities, including my current position as Maintenance Lead for Holtec at the decommissioned Big Rock Site. Just as I feel it is important to learn and grow as a person, the same is vital for the future of our township. I would appreciate the chance to put my education, work ethic, and dedication to work for our community as our Township Supervisor.
  • I will listen to our resident because every voice matters
  • I will represent our community with honesty and transparency
  • I will help to make Hayes Township a place we all can be proud of
Keeping our homes and community safe and clean for ourselves and future generations
Honesty, openness and transparency. These 3 characteristics are what make up a respectable leader. Telling people the truth is key to being a trustworthy official, being open to hear the voice of the public and being upfront with you policies and decision helps the township to see you have their best interest at heart.
I am a good listener, I am always wanting to learn and grow and I am willing to debate and discuss any and all of my ideals and decisions. I care about our community, and I use forward thinking to help make sure it's around for my son and everyone else in our township
Listening to our community and being the liaison between the voice of the community and required outside sources needed to run our township.
That a good governing board can do right by the people
All the places you will go - Dr. Guess. I actually read this book to my one year old from time to time. It's a great reminder that the world is always perfect. It has ups and downs and it's okay sometimes to stop and plan your next decision. As an adult it speaks to me about how even as we struggle there is always something to learn, a way to grow, and somewhere to go right over the horizon.
Every decision the board makes should not only depend performed in a public format but should also be up for discussion and debate from the community. It is important that the decisions we make align with the needs of our fellow Hayes Township neighbors
