I'm Alex Lloyd, a Candidate for NH State Representative for Milford. Lifelong granite stater with a background in education, business, job training and social services.
In NH even recently, we've seen corruption - Governor Sununu is prioritizing his political donors for COVID-19 business relief over the NH working class. That's not right. Money taken from corporations are Bribes and this is the result. Bribes like these are why healthcare is still tied to employment, which has been shown to be a disaster since the pandemic began. Our people are increasingly devastated the longer this goes on without real support. NH taxpayers can only take so much of this, their burden must be lessened.
It's pretty hard to not be inspired by Hamilton!
I work full time, and for years I've had multiple jobs. What's great about NH's House is that it is made up of so many people that so many more people, like me, are able to engage in the political process when in other states or even the senate we would have increased difficulty to do so.
The economy needs to work for the majority, not just those who are already well off. It won't be easy, but policies made in the future need to have that in focus.
Our governor should probably sign bills we send to his desk once in awhile. Maybe this is a bit optimistic, but I believe the relationship could improve. I don't blindly oppose everything he does; it was with his approval that my current job exists.
Districts should not be able to be drawn in such a way as to politically benefit the people drawing them. Possibly an automated process with neutral oversight.
Any committee I be part of should be as directly in-tune with the needs of Milford residents as possible.
The priority should be to serve, to try to make a difference, not ambition or personal gain.
