Alexander Rives
Alexander Rives (1806-1885) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.[1]
He was nominated by President Ulysses Grant on February 3, 1871. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 6, 1871, and received commission that same day. He retired on August 1, 1882.[1] Rives was succeeded in this position by John Paul.
