Alfarena McGinty was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. She earned a high school diploma from Northwest High School. Her career experience includes working in government and as a certified medicolegal death investigator. As of 2024, McGinty was affiliated with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.[1]

I am running for Marion County Coroner in 2024 to complete the work that I have started. I want to continue to advocate for the decedents by determining the cause and manner of death, assisting in the public safety and criminal justice process, and to console families as they grieve the loss of their loved ones.
