Alfonso Gonzalez
Alfonso Gonzalez (also known as Jess) was a judge of the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas General Division in Ohio. Gonzalez assumed office on March 18, 2019. Gonzalez left office on December 9, 2020.
Gonzalez (Nonpartisan, Republican Party) ran in a special election for judge of the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas General Division in Ohio. Gonzalez lost in the special general election on November 3, 2020. Gonzalez advanced from the special Republican primary on April 28, 2020.
Gov. Mike DeWine (R) appointed Gonzalez on March 4, 2019. He took office on March 18. Gonzalez filled the vacant seat resulting from Judge Gene Zmuda's election to the Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals.[1]
Biography
Gonzalez obtained a bachelor’s degree and masters of public administration from Bowling Green State University and a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law.[1]
At the time of his appointment to the court of common pleas, Gonzalez was a magistrate judge for the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas. He previously worked as a staff attorney and a law clerk at the court.[1]
