Alfred Bahakel was a criminal division judge of Circuit 10 in Jefferson County, Alabama.[1] He took office in 1993. Bahakel officially retired on June 1, 2013, though he agreed to stay on as a temporary judge until his replacement was appointed.[2][3] Governor Robert Bentley appointed J. William Cole to fill Bahakel's seat on August 31, 2013.[4]

Education

Bahakel received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, and his J.D. from the Birmingham School of Law.[2]

Elections

2010

Bahakel ran for re-election 2010. He was unopposed in the Republican primary and moved on to defeat David Carpenter in the general election, earning 51.55 percent of the votes compared to Carpenter's 48.45%.[5]
