Alfred J. Horowitz

Alfred J. Horowitz was a unified family court judge of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to a newly-created position by former Governor Jeb Bush on January 26, 2000, and was re-elected in 2008 and 2014.[1][2][3][4] Horowitz retired on December 31, 2017.[5]

Education
Horowitz received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida in 1972 and his J.D. degree from Samford University - Cumberland School of Law in 1975. He also holds a master's degree in taxation from New York University.[2]
Career
Horowitz worked as a partner of Horowitz & Rolnick from 1986 to 1995 and spent over two years as city counsel to Port St. Lucie, Fla. He joined the Broward County Court in 1995 and served there until he was elevated to the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in 2000.[2]
