Alfred M. Swanson, Jr. was a judge on the Cook Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois.[1] He was appointed to this position by the Illinois Supreme Court in October 2010 and again in November 2012.[2] He was defeated in the 2014 primary election, and stepped down on November 30, 2014.[3]

Swanson, Jr. ran for re-election to the Cook Judicial Circuit Court.
Primary: He was defeated in the Democratic primary on March 18, 2014, receiving 36.3 percent of the vote. He competed against Bridget Anne Mitchell. [3][4][5][6]

Swanson ran unsuccessfully for election to the Cook County Circuit Court in 2007 and 2012.[7]

Education

Swanson earned a B.S. in journalism and political science from the University of Illinois (Urbana), and later received his J.D. from Chicago Kent College of Law in 1982.[8]
