The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Incumbent Robert "Bobby" Sanchez was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Edward Colon was unopposed in the Republican primary. Sanchez defeated Colon, Alfred P. Mayo (nonpartisan) and Paul Gobell (G) in the general election.[1][2]
