I work as an architect, designing affordable housing, transit infrastructure, and homes and small businesses throughout the Bay Area. I also run my own design & art business, and have worked with many local organizations to create illustrations, games, and reports on housing, transportation, and environmental policy.

I currently serve on Berkeley's Planning and Landmarks commissions, and have previously served on the city's Zero Waste Commission. I have also been active in the Democratic party, representing the East Bay and Asian Pacific Islander communities, and previously led the East Bay Young Democrats.

I ride the bus. I don't own a car. Ever since moving to Berkeley in 2002 to attend UC Berkeley, I've been riding AC Transit and other mass transit, including both local and Transbay lines.
  • Improving accessibility and safety, especially around crosswalks, bus lanes, and bus stops.
  • Better connections to BART, housing, jobs, schools, and parks, including schedule coordination and free transfers.
  • Working with local and state government to fund transit, improve service, and support jobs and homes near bus lines
Transportation and housing policy. I have worked with community groups, state and local elected officials, Democratic Party leaders, and city and transportation planners, on coordinating transportation and housing policy to create more sustainable and livable cities.
In addition to knowing transit from the planning perspective, I also ride the bus. I don't own a car, and use bus, BART, and biking to get around. Coordinating these parts of our transportation system is key to reducing traffic, improving traffic safety, having reliable connections, and also promoting economic development in our communities.
AC Transit runs buses across two dozen cities and unincorporated communities in the East Bay, and relies on state, local, and federal funding for the majority of its budget. With buses running on city streets, and with most riders getting to and from bus stops on foot or transferring from another transit agency, one of the board's main jobs is coordinating with cities and other transit agencies on the Interagency Liaison Committees as well as with community organizations.

We need someone with the relationships, trust, support, and experience working with state and local leaders to ensure that AC Transit has the funding it needs and the street improvements needed for better service.
I work as an architect and have been at the same firm since 2006, seeing through many large transportation, housing, and infrastructure projects from start to finish.
Politics is like mass transit. We all come from different places and are headed in different directions, but for the part of the journey that we're going in the same direction, let's go together.
