Ali ShamsidDeen (Democratic Party) ran for election for Mayor of Jackson in Mississippi. He was disqualified from the Democratic primary scheduled on April 1, 2025.
Biography
Ali ShamsidDeen earned his B.A. from the University of Washington and his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law. He also holds an MPPA from Jackson State University. ShamsidDeen's career experience includes serving as a municipal court judge for Jackson, Mississippi. He previously served in the U.S. Army. ShamsidDeen has also worked as a law clerk, an associate with the firm Lumumba and Freelon, in private practice with the firm Ali M. ShamsidDeen, as a public defender for Bolton, Mississippi, and as an editor for the Jackson Advocate Newspaper.[1]
