Alicia H. Nakata

Alicia H. Nakata was a judge for the Chelan Superior Court in Washington. She was elected to the superior court on November 6, 2012.[1][2] Nakata retired from the court at the end of December 2017.[3]
Nakata won re-election in 2016. She was unopposed in the general election on November 8, 2016.
Biography
Nakata received her undergraduate degree from University of Washington and her J.D. from the University of Texas.[4] Before her 2012 election to the Chelan Superior Court, Nakata served for 18 years as a district court judge on the Chelan County District Court. Previously, she worked as the chief criminal deputy prosecutor for Chelan County, an assistant city attorney for Seattle, and as a King County public defender.[4]

Elections
2016
Washington held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. Candidates for district and superior court seats had to file for election by May 20, 2016. Primary elections were held on August 2, 2016, for six seats where more than two candidates filed for election. Incumbent Alicia Nakata ran unopposed in the Chelan Superior Court nonpartisan general election for Position 3.[5]

2012
Nakata was elected to the Chelan Superior Court. She advanced from the primary election, winning 40.32 percent of the vote and then defeated Travis Brandt in the general election on November 6, 2012.[6][7][2]
