I hold an M.A. in Journalism and have a career focus on government, politics, finance and religion. I am running for Mayor of Albany, N.Y. because I believe that stepping into office is a powerful way to facilitate transformation in the world. The city of Albany has long struggled with a number of issues that seem to have no resolution, so it is time for a fresh set of eyes, a new vision and plan that focuses on people over politics- and that's what I am working toward as "The People's Mayor". For over 100 years, Albany has had one, single party in power- and no matter the party, it is a recipe for disaster, which is where we are now. As "The People's Mayor", my platform is: Liveability. Transparency. Accountability. The people of Albany deserve a mayor who is not only a capable leader, but is also not easily pressured, paid off or pushed around. I decided to set myself apart, run against the status quo and draw a clear line between myself and the current mayor because I am confident Albany is ready for a new season and that they'll vote for the mayor who cares about what their daily life experiences are in our city and sees them as valuable, necessary and worth every effort. Crime and filth have overtaken Albany and a mayor who knows how to appropriately support both the police and the communities will put the city on the right track toward a greater measure of peace. The residents have spoken: we're ready to rethink our Albany!
  • "The People's Mayor" the name I created to let residents know that 1) we have a lot in common and we'll start there, 2) My "platform" is THE PEOPLE and 3) The people should have access to their mayor
  • "Liveability" - The daily issues that we all experience, from crime to potholes. HOW you live matters, especially when YOU are paying for it! "Transparency" - Financial disclosures, access to information, awareness "Accountability" - Holding city leaders to their promises is a priority to me! All government should have "checks and balances" in place that ensure they complete their jobs
  • If you truly want change, YOU WILL HAVE TO VOTE FOR IT. Financial support helps a "regular" person win over wealthy, comfortable incumbents, so donations are a major factor in winning. Transformation is never going to happen with more funding, but when a mayor knows how to see the wealth in people.
My primary vision is to address the issues that affect the people- liveability, transparency and accountability. This covers everything from crime to homelessness and poverty to street care, small businesses and management of residents from all walks of life. My policies are not focused on creating larger forms of government and paying for more programs, but instead restructuring and reexamining systems already in place, eliminating waste and creating a more efficient form of city management that provides more for the people.
