Perera completed a candidate statement for VoteWA. In it, she said, “Coupeville has had years of challenges with budget shortfalls, achievement gaps, and students struggling to find a new normal in a changed world. But my time on the school board has shown me that although these are big issues, progress is possible when we put students first, and we can do hard things when we do them together.”
