The city of Irving, Texas, held elections for city council on May 7, 2016. Three of the eight city council seats were up for election. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 12, 2016.[1] Incumbent Allan E. Meagher defeated Tom Spink and Shamima Mondal in the Irving City Council, Place 2 general election.[2]
