Allen S. Goldberg
Allen S. Goldberg was a judge of the Cook County 9th Subcircuit in Illinois.[1] He was elected in 1992 and retained in 1998, 2004 and 2010. He retired on September 6, 2013 following an announcement from Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis.[2] Goldberg was succeeded by Jerry A. Esrig on October 30, 2013.[3]
Education
Goldberg earned a B.S. in accounting from the University of Illinois in 1964, going on to receive his J.D. from DePaul University in 1967.[4]
Career
Prior to his election to the bench in 1992, Goldberg was chief of the Felony Trial Division of the Cook County Public Defenders' Office.[5]
Throughout his time on the court, Goldberg spent seven years in the Domestic Relations Division and ten years working with commercial litigation disputes. At the time of his retirement, Goldberg served in the jury section of the Law Division.[4]
2010 retention

Goldberg was retained in 2010, receiving 75.01 percent of the vote.[6][7]
Goldberg was recommended for retention by the Judicial Performance Commission of Cook County.[8]
